Urban and Hybrid Electric Bikes 2020 - Comparison Table

Urban and Hybrid Electric Bikes
Urban and hybrid electric bikes, although similar, are different from each other mainly due to how they are used. Urban bikes are built for short distances, while hybrid bikes are built for slightly longer trips. Essentially, the choice comes down to your needs.
Questions to Ask When Choosing an Electric Bike
Motor Power
A bike for cyclo-tourism or hiking and strolls on ridable terrain needs a stronger battery. As we explain in our Choosing an Electric Bike Battery, higher wattage generally means longer battery life. A 400-500 watt battery will allow you to go on longer rides.
Torque
If you have a luggage rack, and use it often, the more torque, the better -- whether you use it for competition, exercise or relaxation. To give you an idea, the electric motor bikes that we sell range from 40N-m to 80N-m. Our electric mountain bike have 70N-m motors and higher.
Torque is also important if you ride on steep paths.
Accessories
Hybrid and urban bikes are designed with the rider’s comfort in mind. Very often, this results in numerous accessories being integrated into the bike. Some of our models have accessories such as luggage racks, a headlight and mud guards.
Display Unit
Trip computers can also be a worthwhile accessory. These display units help you control your motor and speed, in addition to providing you with helpful information. Trip computers come in several styles, from a simple screen to help you control your speed to more complete systems with a USB port, and even complete smartphone integrations.
Bike Design and Style
No point in beating around the bush -- although superficial, you still need to consider how your bike is going to look. You may prefer one bike over another for its color or shape, but also for its “e-bike” appearance.
Some electric bike models have their battery and wiring integrated right into the bike’s frame. This makes these bikes look more discreet and give them a more traditional aesthetic. The Quick Neo and Cannondale’s Treadwell, as well as the Samedi 28.2 from Moustache are some great examples.
